Overall The Edge is a good place to live. The apartments are nice and up-to-date. The area is beautiful with lots of walking trails and grocery stores in walking distance. The complex is well cared for and the staff at the office are usually nice. Maintenance is on point, I have never gone long without a response, and this is without calling the emergency line. However, I do have a few gripes, which are few, but significant: #1: They started charging $25/month for valet trash service. No notice, no input, just started charging. There is never a long walk to any dumpster. The majority of residents are like me, young with children. So, we are more than able to take the trash down. The valet service simply throws the trash in the dumpsters, which still creates over flow and a huge mess which will attract pests. When I asked, there was no way to opt out of this needless service. I was told that this was to benefit the older residents. However, when I pressed, they admitted that their older resident population is very very low. They should have asked the residents what amenities they would have valued before taking on the needless $25/month, or letting you opt out by returning your curby. Also, allowing people to set their trash outside their door for the service promotes them piling their stinky, unsightly trash in the breezeways. The smell of rotting food and used diapers can be smelled just walking up to your own door. Very gross. #2. Constant pet waste on the ground. Seems some residents can't be bothered to pick up after their pets, even though there are many pet waste stations for FREE bags and a can. I ran across pet waste in the breezeway once, which I called in, and which sat there for 2 days. #3. While the office staff are nice, they are a bit inept at times. The call boxes have not been working for over a year now. As this is a gated community, the call boxes are essential for deliveries and guests. I have asked on many occasions to have these fixed. I have yet to see them get fixed. When you get a package, it is rare to be made aware it has arrived. Occasionally the postman or the USPS/FedEx person will leave a note. But, usually you have to know it is coming and be tracking it. When I told the office staff about it, they informed me that this was a Post Office and UPS/FedEx issue.Read More

I chose to live in this apartment complex because of the community amenities. I wanted a location that was close to work, but had nice running trails and was walking distance to Wegmans, Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax Corner and other amenities. I am able to commute to Washington, DC but live in an affordable area.

I moved into The Edge about 7 months ago. They had an amazing deal going on which included no deposit, aminitie fee waived, and the rest of the month free (13 days). Lovely pool and lounge area in the main office and the price range is compatible for the area. They offer a gated community which is not very consistent on whether they are open or closed. The office customer service is less than great. There isn't any order to the mailroom where you pick up your packages so sometimes you don't actually get your packages. The appliances are pretty out dated and don't always work well. All in all, the square footage you get for the price is good for the area. This is the perfect apartment complex, great restaurants at Fairfax Corner like Coastal and outdoor space. The common areas are well maintained and staff incredibly helpful and friendly. It has a large outside pool,unfortunately they don't has a tennis court.Apartments has huge sqf in this area,for example: 3 bdr,2bthr, 1424sqf.

We love the gym and the pool Customer service from the leasing office is not helpful, Every time I go to the leasing office they are not helpful. They didn't want to give a parking pass , because the Leasing agent was so lazy to find one. She was 5min away from closing and she was already closing the office. Over all I think the apartments look great a lot space. I like the area .
