For Park East Apartments
I lived in this apartment for two years (2013-2015), and it was just okay. The management (UIP) was very hands off, and didn't seem to be very organized. They staff had high turnover, and they didn't seem to have a presence in the building. The building was somewhat clean, they seemed to do a better job now of taking care of pests, and they're renovating to make it more modern. In a year, I'm sure it'll be great, but for right now it's just okay.
Review from Apartments.com
I recently signed a lease at Park East, as my job relocated me to Washington DC. When I went to tour the unit they were offering, they couldn't show me the exact unit as it was still tenant occupied - so we looked at a similar unit. I was told very specifically that the unit had a washer, dryer, full-size appliances, and quartz countertops, as is also advertised on their website; and was also in the similar unit that they let me tour. So I signed the lease.. guess what: 1 week later I get a phone call from the leasing agent that there is no washer or dryer, a small efficiency dishwasher, and vinyl countertops in the unit. (I haven't even moved in yet.) It's extremely frustrating that as a consumer, you cannot trust leasing agents or management companies to be honest about the product that they're selling. I am in negotiations with the management company to make accommodations for their false advertisements and misleading sales tactics. This building has so much that is fantastic, but dealing with an untrustworthy management company is not worth it. Stray away from this complex, as most other reviews also suggest. I will update my review to positively reflect the accommodations that are made by the management company regarding the missing upgrades, should they choose to work with me. If not, I'm going to have to legally pursue the issues with an attorney that will end up being a costly and massive headache, just to be released from the lease.. and I haven't even moved into the unit yet.
