A comfortable, light space with a beautiful view

I've lived at the Park Bethesda Apartments for over 7 years and have found it a safe and comfortable community to call home. I live in an 800-square foot one-bedroom apartment, but the floor-to-ceiling windows and spacious balcony allow for plentiful light and an outdoor space that makes the apartment seem so much bigger. My apartment features a southern view that looks out over the Capital Crescent Trail and the building is within walking distance to grocery and drugstores, churches, a library and a few bus lines. A weekday rush-hour free shuttle to the Metro is a popular amenity among the residents. I've found the management and maintenance staff to be very friendly and helpful, and maintenance issues are resolved extremely quickly - almost always within 24 hours. Residents must pay a $90 monthly fee to park their car and while there is plentiful parking, I do find the fee excessive for an outdoor lot. However, all in all, my experience here has been very positive and I hope to remain here for awhile!

An enjoyable stay

I've been living at Park Bethesda for 2 years and I would say the only thing I haven't enjoyed about living here has been the renovations that have been going on since before I even started living here (and still going!). I think as soon as all of the construction is finished this will be a prime location to live for people who want a comfortable, affordable, family and pet friendly place. That being said, I imagine that the rent is probably going to increase once everything is finished. If I weren't looking to move to NOVA I'd probably stay here longer.

a horrible experience

It is anything but luxury. Moved into an apartment complex not to have any issues to worry about. It has been the worst experience of my life. Everyone is rude with the exception of the front desk staff. The apartment constantly has issues from clogged toilet every other day to the kitchen sink having water come out from it, the service staff is horrible!! my car was keyed in the complex and no one even said sorry. No one care about you at this place. When we saw the place we were told you could not hear anything in the walls. You hear the cars outside the whole time, you can hear your neighbors in the bedroom. It's just not a place you want to call home!

Do not rent at Residences at Capital Crescent Trail apt in Bethesda MD

The property management and its staff are very political. Anytime it suits them (such as if they find prospective renters that are willing to pay more), the property management would come up with any reason, including coming up with made up breach of contract, so that they can rent your unit at a higher price. There is no sense of stability renting here. I strongly recommend that you do not. In addition, there are cameras everywhere and they use the information they gain by watching you in the cameras to their benefits. Do not rent at this place at all. Sounds from the hallways like speaking voices from other renters or people in the hallway can be heard loudly and clearly. Talking and sounds above and next to your unit can be heard loud and clearly, including loud sounds from rumblings of laundry washers. I did not have a sense of secure privacy, peacefulness and stability.

????? - Highest Electric Bills in all of Southern Maryland

If you are looking for an apartment building, do not select this building. We moved into this building about a year ago and consistently have electric bills over $200. Going as high as $350 in the winter. We keep our apartment at 68-70 degrees because of the electricity costs. This is because all appliances in the apartments and the in-room heaters are all electric. When I brought it up with the building's management they asked if I needed help setting the thermostats to a proper temperature. The manager stated: “ electric bills do tend to run higher in our community vs another community with Central Heating, and Gas supplied appliances. Your entire unit is run by electricity." The building is completely aware of the high electricity costs their apartment has and purposefully turns off the in-room heaters when you tour the apartments. Between the electricity and "parking" fees, you'll be paying $400 more each month than they tell you. If you don't believe me, ask the following questions when you get a tour of one of this building's "luxury" apartments: - What is the average electricity bill for this apartment in the winter? - Can we turn on the heating system? I want to see how loud it is. - Can I talk to another resident about their experience with this building?
